  Grid Solar is now cheaper than thermal. However to achieve that we would have to use competitive bidding to procure the projects. Zambia has embarked on such a project for the rate of about USc6.4 per kWh. the NDC solar projects are of the order of USc18 per kWh acquired through sole-sourcing
  
  It is possible to have even 400MW of grid solar to run with our hydros.
