But as the President it is unethical to receive gifts from individuals and corporate bodies. Taking a gift of sheep or goat from a chief after a visit is acceptable, but accepting a hamper woeth GHC 500 000 is unacceptable. Prime Minister Prof K A Busia advised givernment officials not to accept gifts because tgey were 'bribes'. He gave away all gifts of non- pecuniary nature to SOS homes.
