  Kwame, how I wish a copy of your article is mailed to the Presidency to read. You're perfectly right to suggest that unless we restructure and modify our public institutions and the way we do business, the everyday corruption we encounter would not go away. Besides installing traffic cameras at strategic locations to check over-speeding drivers on our highways and cities, how do we get our highway patrol men to issue speeding tickets to drivers instead of taking bribes and allowing such culprits to go only to cause accidents somewhere? Again, public institutions should be made to generate some revenue to cover their operating expenses; and streamline the salary structure to be attractive. This might also reduce the level of leakages in the system. The lands commission, internal revenue service, customs, lands commission and planning should be made to generate some revenue towards their annual budget.

  Yes, the corruption issue is one that has incalculable damage on the economy. There must be a serious national strategy.
