I have lived in Ashanti region for the past 26years and have had the opportunity to study the Ashantis. They are fiercely loyal to their King and kingdom.If NDC or NPP had lifted the ban on noise in Kumasi I can guarantee you that the people would not have shown up for the political rallies and may have even boycotted that party alltogether.We need to stop comparing ourselves to the Ashantis so much and do what works for us.We have become the copycat tribe-"oh the Ashantis did this so we must do that to beat them.".We have a rich and beautiful culture and have had many opportunities to showcase it to the world,if we haven't succeeded then we should look within and stop childishly blaming it on others.

I am a very proud fante, the problem we fante's have is that we don't pay courtesy to our traditions and because the land is not as rich like the Asante one we end up belittling it but I recall happier and richer times when Nana Ambra was there and our festival was the talk of the nation. I pray for Central region to finally see some major developments and in turn the empowerment of the stool to the level that the Asante kingdom has.
