Too many things are politicized in our country. The civil service is supposed to be non-politicized with the professional staff serving every government. But in Ghana all senior civil service jobs are completely politicized. Even jobs in the rest of society (including the private sector) depend on who you know and political office holders are the ones to pass through to get jobs.
Even the wives of political office holders who are themselves nothing can help you get jobs in the private sectors.
There's not much that can be done. It's good that DCEs will be elected.
The practice in which the governor of the bank of Ghana voluntarily steps down because a new government takes over should be stopped. If the governor is qualified he should serve out his term after which he can be replaced if he so wishes.
The manner in which heads are being removed just days into the new government is alarming. The letters of dismissal are also rude as you say.
