A funny thing seems to have happened to the NPP the last 0-9 years that no observer has thus far spoken about, as far as we can tell.
In the essay, Francis Kwarteng uses a word, "panning". This could have been very much intended, or a simple typo, for "planning". Still, however we look at it, it is actually appropriate. With "pan in hand", it now seems, Akufo Addo has selected 30 people to plan a national celebration.
We are wondering why Serious Akufo Addo did not publish a request for volunteers with a certain level of interest, expertise, commitment, resources, etc.?
In this telecom age, teleconferences, video, and such, does it even matter the 30-odd appointed members have to be resident/geographically located in Ghana, if you are going to "celebrate" wisely, prudently?

Yours is a very thoughtful and comprehensive summary of the 1964 article.
For some of us, the other important thing is also to be able to connect the missing dots, to include that Dover, NJ, OJ story and Akosombo Dam. And when we connect the dot, we then must attempt to put the re-discovered into public circulation, outside the academy, if we can.

It has not taken us more than 1 hour to find the following since we discovered the document:
1 The Henschel Firm, German, manufactured and sold locomotives, pre- and post Nazi for sure
2. After numerous transitions, the Henschel Firm now exists as part of Bombadier, Canada
3. As of today, a "Johann Bernard Litscher" V, of Switzerland, has landed proporty assessed at ~$3.5M in Florida, USA. (Suggests that actual appraised/market value is well over $20 million).
These are certainly measures of credibility that ought to be part of the updated narrative, more than 64 years later, you must agree.
The paper is an important one with respect to the history of Ghana on account the record shows that the Johnson-CIA was in fact instrumental in the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah's popularly-elected government, in 1966.
