Idris, I hope you'll include a chapter in your book on common mispronunciations by Ghanaians. Even if your book is on scientific terms, you'll still include an appendix on the topic.
So how do I acceptably pronounce the fruit PEAR (the word Ghanaians commonly but incorrectly use for avocado)?

Ghanaians have a problem with these words too:
1. Mongo - pronounced as " mængo' phonetics but Ghanaian as " mongo"
2. Sword - produced as " so:d " phonetically but Ghanaian as " swo:d.

4. Monkey - pronounced phonetically as" mangki" but Ghanaian as" mongki)
In fact, almost all words are pronounced wrongly by us including me.
We lack the grasp of phonetics .

The problem is simple to solve.The solution is phonology. I'll take them through basic phonetics to complex ones to understand rules governing how words are pronounced.
They shouldn't feel big, it's an area they lack.

I'll take them through basic sounds of letters, vowels, consonants, double vowels, short vowels, long vowels, homophones, vowel elition , linking, to the complex ones etc.
