Akufo-Addo a spectator, not a citizen
“We are determined to get Ghana once again to lead our continent on two fronts: entrenching democracy and the rule of law…” (Akufo-Addo, “We Will Make Ghana Leader in Democracy, Rule of Law—President Akufo-Addo,” Ghanaweb, February 18, 2017).

Clearly the target of Akufo-Addo’s plagiarized inaugural speech was the Ghanaian, supposedly an audiential referent very much in tune with the swearing-in hoopla.

Sort of an expectant maiden speech nonetheless, but one deeply marinated in or tinged with the sweltering heat of international ignominy.

I have read widely articles in the 80s till date and haven't found such big words piled up like my friend's one.

The essence of communication in which writing is one, is to convey meaning n understanding to your audience. The beauty of language is not about how big words are piled but how persuasive it's.

But I don't read Ahoofe. I have stopped reading Ahoofe some three years ago, except when one of my core readers has asked me to take a look at a particular article of his and to respond to it.

Outside Ghanaweb too I don't read him. I don't particularly see Ahoofe as worthy of my reading time. He is an ordinary writer I can hardly learn anything of substance from, as far as the English language and effective writing in general are concerned.

In fact, I have tons of effective, sophisticated and better professional writers from around the world that I read.
