This consistent writer is controversial, and worrying enough, he appears always to flaunt his knowledge and fluency of the English language, forgetting that, as you implied, he's writing for public consumption. He forgets that not all have his level of education, so the import of his write-ups are lost on the teaming majority the articles are meant to read. Even Dr. Busia was credited with his simple expression in English, even though highly educated.
