  The essence of a heritage fund is that it shall NOT be used today but at a future date. If it is used today, then it ceases to be a Heritage Fund.
  
  A Heritage Fund is the money you continue putting in the kitty with the aim that it shall accumulate interest and increase for use AT A FUTURE DATE. If it is used now, for whatever purpose, this aim is defeated.
  
  Nobody is against free secondary school education. Much of the argument is about how feasible, how it can be funded and the manner in which it will be implemented. And these issues must be properly discussed even by those who proposed the idea.
  
  Btw, did an Indian professor really say "If people does not laugh..."?

  Conclusion
  
  Since the Heritage fund belongs to the young, and we want to increase the value of the young in future, we must use the Heritage Fund to educate the young today.

  This does not mean we shall not invest in the youth for their future. We MUST do so but such investment shall not come from a Heritage fund. It should come from elsewhere.
  
  The heritage fund is not just kept in dollars in a pot. It is invested so that it shall increase in value over time. In the future that money (or the interest thereof) shall be used for all the Ghanaians of that future - both the young then and the young now who would have been old then. The Heritage Fund does not, strictly speaking, belong to the youth. It belongs to the FUTURE. That is why it shall not be used today!
  
  Right now, the funds in the Heritage Account are very small and will not even cover the cost of the free SHS. There is nothing wrong with the funds being small now. The idea is that it shall grow over time. This idea is defeated if we start spending it now - no matter on what.
  
  I say Yes to free SHS. But we must fund it from other sources.

More than 600 million dollars if you care to know. No matter how big your dream is, if you don't wake up from your sleep, you will never actualize it. Nana started preaching free SHS since 2008 and up till now we are still talking about how to fund it. Are we serious??? Heritage fund can't save him.
