We are surrounded by the folly of swearing on the Christian Bible or Muslim Koran, or gods/idols each day; human history tells us so but we fail to learn anyways. Could anything be more important to a Christian than swearing on a Bible or to a Muslims swearing on a Koran? Yet the Europeans and the Americans who gave us their religion used the very Christian Bible to capture, sell and abuse African slaves for centuries while going to church on Sundays to thank the Christian God for his help in the money-making slave trade even while abused slaves prayed to the same Christian God to save them from the inhumane abuses at the hands of slave masters. Muslin terrorists use the Koran to justify killing of innocent lives without remorse but expect others to become better human beings through subjugation.
In our local practices, these charlatans believe in the curses of the gods who have never helped Ghana or anyone to the kind of societal succeses of value but only in the death of humans. Why could those who believe in the crap not call on the powers to help Ghana become Germany, UK or the USA? Why would judges and presidents swear on the Bible and become liars and corrupt if the silliness has any worthwhile value? Yes there is good, bad and evil all around us but we suffer at the hands and cures of these useless gods because we cannot sustain a truthful existence. You cannot tell a god you are honest and lie on any topic period. The gods probably know as much about lying as any one who has been lied to many a times by so-called friends. I say let's test the worthiness of the gods by asking for their help in transforming Ghana into Germany, the UK or USA in the next 4 years of Nana Akufo-Addo. After all wouldn't we all want to enshrine the Nana Akufo-Addo name for the ages?
