  President Akufo-Addo's call on punctuality is very laudable indeed. I just wish the President would make surprise checks and unannounced visits to all Government offices/Ministries and Departments. When some Government officials and Ministers get the sack for lateness, that will send a very strong message.
  
  As a society, we turn up late at work places, schools, offices, meetings, appointments, parties and other social events. And we wonder why Ghana lags behind in development.
  
  We seriously need a change in culture and attitude to turn this around and value punctuality. Employees should be sent home for lateness, and there should be a Clocking-In system in our schools, Government offices/Departments to improve punctuality and increase productivity.
