Ghanaians would need to know what these 110 Minister are going to do for our country. Indeed their job description so that we could hold them to account of their failings. You are ahead of President in bringing this up in the open. A Work -plan with Gantt cahrt, annual performance targets for each Minister and our expectation is crucial for Ghana right now. Ghanaians should never assume that a President knows it all. This is why challenging a Government through articles and being vocal holds them to accounts and realise that Ghanaians are not stupid. Mahama did to share his plans with Ghanaians in the end a total disaster re Government projects currently falling apart.

You are right. I agree with you 100%. We need to hold these people to account, Let's have a National discussion on the job description of 110 Ministers, their work plan and their performance targets for Fiscal year 2017.

Here is the joke on them.
Who in good conscience could blame them if they came back with:
Fiscal Year 2017:
Performance Goals /Target /Accomplishment: Conducted "National discussion on job description of 110 Ministers.
ITEM: Clearly, Akufo Addo has put even objective people like Mr. Ben Ofosu-Appiah (and Mr. Joe Debrah) playing catch-up.
That is not how it is supposed to work in any serious government, let alone "in the corporate world"
"In the corporate world," there would be point papers defended by responsible officials, that show the need for value to be added by "hiring" so many "new employees". What are, in fact, not getting done by existing positions that would be done by new hires.
What data supports what?
Clearly, you do not dramatically increase the size of government and divisions within, if you are interested in coordinated, rational, work results that serve the interests of the People, more than those of the "new hires".
Akufo Addo is telling Ghanaians those "new hires" are Ministers already, thus no significant impact to the public purse, "exchequer", as he says.
But, Akufo Addo has still not told Ghanaians what exactly would be the impact, in cedis/dollars, in effective governance, etc.
We mostly have wishes!
In fact, the last we heard, they do not even care for the "lean government" tag.
In short, Akufo Addo has his cart before the horse, in this case, also.
Our take is Akufo Addo does not want to tackle the hard questions (e.g. repairing the wart-infested Rawlings Constitution, enacting a strong Freedom of Information Bill, etc.).
In fact, he continues to muddy the waters on so many fronts, so to speak.
In all, a good read, we must say.
Our thanks to Mr. Ben Ofosu-Appiah.
Thank, Mr. Joe Debrah.

Some news making rounds on social media shows that Article 71 office holders salaries, allowances, and other emoluments ioncluding the ex-gratia we pay every 4 years to them alone constitutes 60% of the public wage bill !!! Can you imagine what 110 Ministers with more to come do to break the national kitty? It is plain stupid for a country like Ghana to have such an over bloated government.

The average person believes in accountanbility but you guys are being too petty and funny. How many countries in this our universe will you get such written down information? Let's be real sometimes. How many of you can tell your doctor how many hairs you have on your private parts for him/her to make a good diagnosis on why you're always itching there? Please ask for what is attainable and stop living in a vacuum of dreams.

Itching in your private parts does not require medical test,Venereal disease or STD"s does.So your analogy is dead on arrival.

Review of the Responsibilities and Accountabilities of Ministers and Senior Officials, (www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/report/rev-exa/ar-er-eng.pdf).
Clearly, you know a lot less, to be honest with you.
Even worse, we can tell you, like many of those in government, just do not like to read, on top of having diddle squat experience working in serious organizations and agencies. (Come back and challenge us on that, if you want, and we will engage more, on this).
Surely, if the People Demand, the People Must Get. Would that not be accountability?
In parting, copy this into your Google URL, and get to work, honest:

And please, Mr. President, don't tell us that the public wage bill for these Ministers is in the Budget. That is not an acceptable answer. How can you cut taxes and abolish a whole bunch and still expect to fund the government. I don't believe these are the examples Ghanaians were expecting to see to prove that we finally have the leadership that cares about how Ghana's limited funds are spent.
