I believe people deserve to be addressed by titles they've worked hard for if they so desire, however, it's becoming ridiculous to watch people addressed as 'Lawyer or engineer so & so' when I watch Ghanaian programs. I work in an office where many have five or six degrees including PhDs but in some cases, it took me a number of years to find out about these achievements because everyone is addressed by their first names. Mainly, the emphasis is on production and not on titles although these are by no means important. In my suburb, most of the big and beautiful homes are not owned by academics or senior public servants but by tradesmen like carpenters, plumbers and electricians etc etc (of course well trained tradesmen). Let's accord all the respect they deserve whether they are royalty or subjects, industrialists or roadside mechanics, professors or labourers because as a matter of fact, all play their roles in the community. Thanks.
