Of course a Ghanaian can't do galamsey in china bcos the Chinese govt and laws will not permit that. Pls learn to read and understand and stop insulting ppl whose shoes u may not be qualified to clean.

  Here is a little flaw in your argument Dr. Isaac Odoom. Since when were the greater majority of Ghanaians rich and or lived above the globally accepted poverty line? So why has greed and foolishness not destroyed Ghana until our politics gave rise to the NDC and NPP? If it is poverty and lack of work that is driving galamsey then we should have seen the worst kinds of environmental damages, criminal activities and all the social ills in years past when a greater majority of Ghanaians were uneducated, could not have jobs and or earn much. The greed we see today was birthed with the upswing of the NDC and NPP by a generation of degenerates. At the very worst of the CPP era, you never heard of a member of parliament call for vigilantes to bring havoc on politicians if party supporters did not get their way. Yes CPP era ministers were thieves but had common sense loving Ghana above party or tribe even when being tribal. There are more educated folks today and yet not enough jobs to go around because the NPP and NDC tampered with our education system. Do you remembers the days of GCE "O" level and "A" levels? What good do you think a free education in Ghana is going to bring? More graduates who cannot become entrepreneurs but waiting on government jobs? So while graduates wait on jobs we have morons in the NPP and NDC buy luxury vehicles for appointees who live off government largess and get Ex-Gratia payments to boot. Galamsey is here because of the greed of the NDC and NPP card carrying members and their enablers in the Diaspora who will sell their own mothers if there was anyone dumb out there to buy them. Galamsey started when the morons in the NPP and NDC started selling state assets for chump change and all you educated dimwits gave your blessings that privately owned assets are far better managed and worthy than government owned assets. The flood gates were wide open and there has never been an end to the sale of Ghana; no not even the sale of all of Osu to Ghanaians of Lebanese-parents who are now lording over Ghanaians. Do you remember Faddi Daboussi who insults Mahama as he fly in and out of Ghana to visit his Lebanon homeland? Do you think he goes back to Lebanon every so often to bring money or rather take money earned in Ghana to Lebanon?

  Let us get to the point. We have Environmental Protection (EPA) laws on the books that are supposed to stop all these nonsense. Why are we not applying these laws to stop the galamsey menace. Simple, in Ghana we make the laws, no one obeys it, and no one enforces it. In the city that I live in, park your car in a no parking zone and It will be gone (towed away) by the time you come back. Now, that is respect for the rule of law and active enforcement of the law. Can Ghana emulate or top that. Nooooooooo!
