The gentleman may have been the best student and his achievement earned him an interview, which is the normal practice in leading universities across the world. The interview seeks to select from the qualified applicants the most suited for the course, so it levels the playing field for the selected candidates. Mr Kyere will not be the first brilliant student to fail an interview and his sense of entitlement is rather unfair to the university. Anybody meeting the selection criteria, must surely be given an equal opportunity of selection. A student who was recently admitted to the Stanford University class of 2021, was rejected by Harvard, Tufts, and Columbia, although he qualified for selection. We need to make the system work, without assuming that such decisions are based on a skewed selection process. The interviewer has conducted many interviews and I am sure has the experience to determine who gets selected into the program. In any event, Mr Kyere could also have applied to the UoG medical school as well, to boost his chances of becoming a medical doctor. He obviously made the assumption that his grades warranted a place at the medical school, without paying attention to the entire selection process

Go to the medical school and you would be surprised to see persons with B's in their results being admitted. Stop the hypocrisy. Or is it because he's coming from St. James which is in Sunyani? If he had come from the So called elite schools would this have happen?

I am on an admission committee in a professional program in a school in the United States. We have a multifaceted interview system and points are awarded on different categories of expectation. Interviewers are assigned for each category as such the admission is based on the grading of all interviewers and not one person. Questions like the name of the coach of a famous soccer team is rare because it is not relevant for the practice of medicine. You cannot deny a student his desired course after being the best academically in West Africa just because he does not follow English soccer or soccer at all

Hmm...its a pity but I'm not surprised this is happening.. The wickedness of Ghanaian is very evident.. The number of foreign trained doctors that medical and dental council fails each time they come and write the lincense exams to practice in the country is unbelievable after paying $700 as registration fee .. And yet still they come out to say there are no doctors in Ghana ..the mafia group that has been formed in our health sector is what is killing us.

its motto - Sincerity, Fidelity, Perseverance. It is therefore no wonder that every year many
young men dream of benefitting from the famed Catholic education the school is known for but
only the very qualified gain admission.
In recent history, St James Seminary has been crowned National Debate Champions twice. It
was adjudged the best performing school in Ghana within the last ten (10) years1
