At least, we haven't forgotten the pandemonium that occurred in Tafo, as the Muslim youth behaved foolishly. What of the Fulani and the Krofrom saga? Kumasi was not heaven when Kofi Boakye was here. A Ghanaian Cultural troupe had gone to Sofia under an exchange programme. When the Ghanaians were ready for the stage, the Bulgarians authorities got horrified by the fact that their guest artistes were displaying bare torso, male and female. A complaint was lodged against the non covered torso. The reason being that it did not conform with THE PUBLIC MORALITY LAWS OF BULGARIA.
The Ghanaian leader, whose status was not above a Deputy Minister, agreed to have the torso of his troupe covered with the proviso that on the return leg in Accra, the Bulgarians would be expected to bare their torso TO CONFORM WITH THE PUBLIC MORALITY LAWS OF GHANA. At the end of it all, the Ghanaians were allowed to mount the stage and performed without covering their torso. The Reader's Digest caption was simple: FAIR EXCHANGE.
