  Whatever type of services provided on the London-Accra route by British Airways is based on a business decision. No amount of political pressure, from particularly a third world country like Ghana, will force them to reconsider that decision. The bad services will only improve when British Airways sees that competition from another carrier is eating into its profit, until then London-Accra passengers will have to endure those services.

  I think the Ghana Government must lay down some rules which, if not implemented, will cost BA its Accra route. If the President himself has noticed BA's unsatisfactory service -- and as a VIP he flies first class ad so mayot have noticed such anomalies himself --then action must be taken to rectify those anomalies.
  
  BA has no right to treat one of our most respected writers in this shabby way. The Minister of Civil Aviation should follow up the President's appeal with strong action.

  Ghana government must assist local airlines,so there will be competition on the London-Accra route.That will make the airfares drop and people will get better services as well.

  Monopoly in modern business would always take undue advantage of its customers.

  We must ask ourselves why after 60 years we could not run our own airline like most countries including Ethiopia.
  
  Its the same Ghanaian politicians, policymakers and executives who systematically destroyed Ghana Airways - we all know horror stories of how not to run an airline or any business happened at the Ghana Airways. - Total Abuse by management, politicians and staff of the defunct airline. Even Politicians and policy makers made sure that a potential competitor like VIRGINS could NOT RUN a successful business in Ghana - Top people possibly in the pay books of the major main airline made sure competition fails.
  
  The only way to get British Airways to behave decently is to allow or create a competitive airline to compete otherwise no rules or reprimand would change British Airways and its ilk.
  
  So in the end we should also blame ourselves as Ghanaians for most of the disrespect we get from foreign businesses

I gather that you are simply enthused about the president speaking your mind and so even if nothing comes out of it, you're satisfied.
