  Galamsey started in earnest under the Kufuor Administration in 2000 and grew and prospered under the NDC administrations of Mills and Mahama. The same corruption factor which operated under the NPP adminstration equally operated under the NDC administrations. Both profited from Chinese loans they could loot from and therefore did nothing to rock the boat. Any claim of ignorance should be levelled at Kufuor, Mills and Mahama and nobody else!
  
  The only thing left to be done is to mobilize the army and launch a major crackdown. Galamsey is a major national security threat and our military should be drafted to neutralize that threat!!!

  WE SAY: Right on! Most of the time, anyway.
  
  Yes, we agree, "...mobilize the army and launch a major crackdown". But, that ought to be in coordination with the communities, including police, on the lands directly affected.

  This is stating the obvious. No efficient detachment of police or army formation will go on an exercise of any sort without first seeking NCE, which can only be obtained from the communities. All those in favour of galamsey are always looking fir alleged difficulties that will prevent yhe evil being uprooted. As if they care.

Because he is a togolese coming to fight Ghanaians doing good business. I see his position as a set up. If the galamsayers ask why, then they would be told that they know the person who is fighting them. It is not Nana who is doing it. Give that ministry to one of us (Ashanti, Akyem etc) and you will see how we shall handle the galamsey issue. We will not even mention it. You can take or destroy it.

  Who cares, so long as he does the job entrusted to him? Who has the time to concoct the sort of conspiracy that this tribalist finds it possible to conceive in his beetke brain?
  Mr Amewu will do the job because he has seen the evil with hus owneyes. Even if he was a Martian, he would stop the detruction ofour rivers and waterbodies Tribakists cannot discourage him. Our President and his Cabinet are UNITED in the fight against galamsey. Shame unto all tribalists.
