The development of the youth is one of the keys to unlocking and accelerating our economic growth and development. We the youth have more to offer than the nation thinks and expect from us.
Currently we have the Youth Leadership Parliament of Ghana for which I am member representing Kwesiminstim constituency in the western region and a deputy minister of roads and transport under the Youth Leadership Parliament of Ghana (YLP).
It will it amazed u to know the kind of debates we have on topical issues confronting our economy and the alternative policy suggestions we make.y ministry is currently preparing a road safety campaign document based on the fact that the youth leadership Parliament transport ministry identified road traffic accidents as one of the problems confronting our country like a fast killing disease on daily basis which needs to be tackled with all the seriousness it deserves. We belief as a youth, we can play a part to wrestle our nation out of this menace that claims the lives of both adult and children alike.
However, this organization is not under the government of Ghana and is not sponsored by government. It is purely a volunteer group. It will be good if government decides to it a national property and recognized its roll as such.

The youth do not have to sit in parliament to be responsible citizens with love for country and they darn sure do not need to see how dysfunctional our parliament is to know Ghana is screwed. Everyone in Ghana with love and understanding knows that Ghana has been damaged because of government policies and yes because of multiparty system that reflects ethnic/tribal demarcations.
Does anyone know a day in the history of Ghana when the president or prime minister of Ghana has served with the majority in parliament from the other/opposite party? Do we have to have women shadow every MP and the president because our policies, since precolonial days, favored men over women, denied women some of the basic rights men have and enjoy? Ghana's youth are being used and abused by politicians because a chunk of our youth are easily cajoled to misbehave by politicians with similar low level reasoning capacity.
Let me give a specific example. There is this despicable and unintelligent youth group calling itself the STUNNAD that has risen from the wrath of the NPP government of Nana Akufo Addo. Members of the group include Chris Arthur, Ato Smith, Ken Ofei Asah and Richard Mensah. One of these simple-minded folks thinks because he has a bachelors degree in sociology he deserves to be a director at a public institution. He and his band of ignorant classroom educated clowns dare write a letter asking the NPP government to terminate the appointments of all management at public institution their real target being the YEA because those directors held jobs under the NDC government.
Please tell me Mr. Blege, if you think these ignorant bunch know there are professional civil servants who do not work because of politics but because of public service. STUNNAD has as one of its members a guy with a bachelors degree who thinks he deserve to be a director at a public institution. The folks they wish to replace are professionals who all had at a minimum masters degrees in one field or another. How did we arrive at a time in Ghana politics where education does not matter to the NPP party foot soldiers even while the party wants to spend precious resources to provide free education? Since when did a classroom educated folk with a first degree know more about government, policy and public administration than professionals who have earned their stripes to be where they are in civil service? How would a parliament full of youth with the level of ignorance I have narrated get to be any better were it not for our politics of destructive policies brought on by tribal foolishness masked and political parties?
