  Confidence Nyadzi, Sector Commander of Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) at the Tema Port
  The Sector Commander of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), at the Tema Port, Confidence Nyadzi, has dismissed claims that 500 kilogrammes of cocaine worth about $30 million dollars has disappeared from the Port.
  
  
  
  According to him, thorough investigations conducted by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), Narcotics Control Board (NACOB), the Ministry of Interior and other sector institutions, revealed that no container with cocaine had been detained at the Port.
  
  
  This is contrary to The Finder newspaper’s report suggesting that 10 bags of cocaine, hidden in a consignment of rice with an estimated street value of about $30million, has vanished from the Tema Port under mysterious circumstances.
  
  
  
  The said container was detained on December 2016, but speaking to Citi News’ Franklin Badu Jnr, Mr Nyadzi insisted that, the report cannot be true.

  Why not? Because its only Customs that will arrest a vehicle loads with customs goods that is undervalued, collect the right values (tax) from the vehicle owner with a huge interest and yet the officers who under-declared the value a set free to continue to perpetuate evil.
  Custom has also vowed to ensure importers and exporters view them and their work as all that matters even to the extend of compromising the important duties of other stake holders at the ports and land borders.
  In fact over 90% of the custom officers are not professional and are only out there to grab.

  Heads must roll indeed - l strongly believe some NDC drug dealers took advantage of the political activities and transition period with collaboration with their appointed crooks within the CEPS, NACOB and other relevant institutions to pull this through.
  They now turning round to blame the Gov't for it. Those who ordered and took part in moving and opening the container should be arrested without delay .
