  The Asantehene's silence on the Galamsey menace is a disgrace. It is fueling the perception that the Galamseyers have his tacit support.
  
  The Asantehene must add his voice to the call to stop Galamsey. He has sworn to defend and protect the land of the great forbears and it is time he took action to stop the termites and cockroahes from destroying our land.

  Yaw, you are so right. In the past, a chief would raide an army to defend an odum tree, or a river/stream, if a neigbouring village, town or tribe tried to "steal" it, because stealing it meant stealing the LAND on which the physical objects were situated.
  
  Every King/Chief said "MASAASE" (My Land) and swore a great oath never to allow it to be taken from him while he was alive.
  
  Today, people who sit on land that had been properly safeguarded for 1,000 years or more are so superficial in utlook that they will take a few cedis and allow thweir rivers/stream and farms to be ruineed byforeigners and disloyal s8bjwects working in collaboration with foreigners.
  
  The writer says such peope should be caughtnand horse-whipped. But is it not too late? Can we rescue the rivers, streams and farms? Akufo-Addo, Ghana looksto you to do it. Without fear or favour!
