Ghanaian politicians never do anything wrong. UK HC J. Benjamin was crucified last week. Amoateng did nothing wrong but was imprisoned in the USA for no crime commited.

In developed industrialized nations where there exist reasonable property taxes to support local government institutions decentralization makes absolute sense. Decentralization in Ghana by advoates who had nothing between the ears but hatred for Nkrumah never can justify the move except give political parties the opportunity to use local government appointments as another excuse to bring skewed party politics to local communities. What Ghana's decentralized localized politics has given us is the creation of powerful kingmakers at every district and regional level. There's no money to collect at the community level from property taxes or business transaction taxes that can be of use to those kingmakers. The one and only thing/money they hope to steal is money from Accra for local development. So what is/was the true intent for decentralization in Ghana if not to bring dangerous levels of bribery, corruption and strong-arm tactics to communities across the Ghana landscape?
