  England is a cult worshipping land. They adore and hero-worship their own to the point of absurdity. They have footballers worshipped not for their performance but for identity as English footballers. The funny part is that even when these people are playing second-fiddle to players of gets nationality. This is specially of MAN United. Even when it was clear that players like Owen had come to the end of his not-too-impressive careers, Man United still worshipped them. That's the situation of Rooney. They must keep him for all you care, the results won't just come. The guy is finished as a player. Maybe later a coach, I don't know. But for now, Rooney can't help Man United. The earlier this is carried to him, the better for him, for Man United and England.
