u over simplifies issue abt the school in your write up. i do not know the circumstances under which part of the school land was least to a private developer. but i will agree with any one who leases a govt land to a private developer for a fee. the fee could be used to develop the school further instead of allowing the land to be encroached upon by greedy chiefs with the support of politicians.

the school was closed on account of vandalism. the students went on rampage and vandalised the property of the private developer and threatened to do more if the development doesnt stop. where ever students go on rampage the schools are closed down to assess the damage.

the minister was right to close down the school. in 1996 when commonwealth hall had a clash with Sabah Hall and some properties were destroyed, the school was closed down for a few weeks. by the time we resumed the damaged was assessed and repaired but students were billed to pay.
