##SOURCE: CLASSFMONLINE ------ The Government of Ghana is reviewing the debts incurred by the John Mahama administration to find out whether the loans were used for the purposes of which they were contracted, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, has revealed. After the review of the debt situation, the findings will be made public to enable the Ghanaian people realise how their moneys were spent by the previous administration, Mr Marfo added. It is recalled that during the electioneering season the then main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) accused the Mahama government of excessive borrowing but with little to show for, an assertion the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) rubbished because they thought they had embarked on several infrastructural projects with those loans. Mr Marfo speaking during the National Policy Summit on Tuesday May 16 said revealed that the new government is investigating all the debts left behind by Mr Mahama. “We are working on the numbers, the ministry of finance gives us the bulk numbers. But they do not all emanate from one source, we have some sitting in energy, some sitting in SSNIT and we are examining all. As a government and we are doing it gradually and slowly because we must be accurate. “We want to be sure that whatever comes out finally is accurate. The government owes it as a duty to keep the nation informed about these debts and what it was used for.”

Thanks hypocrite Amidu from coming out from hibernation to speak on this issue. Hello, frustrated, disoriented and disenchanted Martin Amidu, thanks for your opinion. We don't expect anything different from your point of view. Here you are without shame supporting the verdict of the Principal State Attorney for discontinuing the case. However, when your predecessors decided to award Woyome his money for lack of evidence, you went baloney and went to town and won't give our ears any peace. Come NPP, suddenly, you discontinued your harassment of Woyome until now. You are the greatest hypocrite. Ghana is metamorphosing into a Banana republic and you said what?

We, in the general public, don't care about the technicalities upon which Amidu affirms the action of the State Attorney who was supposed to be following orders from above.
What we care about is the core issue that some hooligans forced their way into Court to free possible culprits under processing to face trial and both groups have been illogically set free.
We worry about the precedence set that, we believe, could encourage others to take the law into their own hands anytime they feel to do so.
Meanwhile, the action of setting such political culprits free seems to be more common under any Judicial authorities that have much of Akufo-Addo's influence in and around it.
The failure of the Judicial system under Akufo-Addo's Attorney-Generalship to prosecute anyone for the Murder of the Ya Na and some 40 members of his family forcibly comes to mind. Then also is the Murder of the CPP Chairman who was claimed to have died from natural causes in jail, while under similar political circumstances.
We are aware of how easily evidence could be made to disappear in Ghana, while under the custody of the State Attorneys, so as to declare the case 'non prosecui', and to set the culprits free. Justice is thus denied those who deserve it.
This is not what we expect from any Governments or entities of Power that advocate for Law and Order and claim to be champions of that Democratic principle. And we must be worried that our Laws are vulnerable to frivolous whimsical manipulations to exempt some among us, while the rest of us are hit with the fullest extent of them.
We cannot claim to be any more civilized and progressive than those eras in the past where nepotism, favoritism and cronyism ruled, if this trend continues. Should we assume that the our Laws apply differently to people with different Political affiliations in Ghana?
Long Live Ghana!!!

Amidu for once in his life should stop this NPP v NDC quixotic crusade.
The premise of his convoluted piece in support of the Ashanti Regional officer is firstly that there is no evidence to charge these people. That may well be the case but even that is debatable. Assuming that Martian aliens were responsible for disrupting the court proceedings and spiriting away the defendants, why would or should A POLICE OFFICER be foisted as THE COMPLAINANT?? This is an affront and a challenge to the state, the complainant should be the court/state just as the threat to mutilate the Supreme Court Judges was brought as CONTEMPT OF COURT as an institution of the state and not Justice X , Y and Z as complainants.
If Amidu does not recognise the gravity of this matter then his credibility remains to be questioned. As for witnesses, why should the burden be place on three police officers? The Judge, the court officials and attendees all saw nothing! Which should prove to Amidu, whenever he decides to put on a clear thinking cap, that the rule of fear is what reigns in that jurisdiction.
Even more laughable is his assertion that "disturbance of court and resisting arrest and rescue " are not ones in which standing instructions have been given to the regional offices. Implying that no such crime exists in our statute books and since there are no established processes the case must see a dead end. From henceforth, invading courts to disrupt proceedings and extract defenders is permissible. There is no civilized place on this earth where such brazen defiance of authority especially of the court system would be treated lightly in scoring cheap political points.
