  The Ghanaian predisposition to the culture of death is the country's main achilles heel. When society and the news media spend days mourning and everything else stops because of one man's death, then you should know that society is sick.
  
  Ghana literally stopped - everything came to a standstill just because of Mahama's death. The day he was buried, there were roadblocks everywhere in Accra; government offices turned into grave yards (no pun intended); women and men openly wailed themselves into stupor.
  
  Has any sensible person in the country calculated the economic cost of Major Mahama's death? Just consider the opportunity cost of the empty offices, the roadblocks in the heart of Accra (the hub of Ghana's economic engine), Ghana's Parliament, not to mention those who stayed in Kumase to watch the burial on TV. The opportunity cost runs into billions of cedis if not in dollars.
  
  As I have maintained all along, Ghana will be a paradise if only 15% of the population uses its head, but as it is right now not even 1% of the population is capable of using its head. How sad!

Do you know what this gruesomely brutal murder has done to the morale of the military and image of Ghana security in the international community? Can you quantify security?   How can any sane person justify roadblocks in Accra and the shut down of government offices because of the death of one man? Obviously you have no understanding of the economic implication of this melodrama. Parliament was locked up for the life of me.
  
  You know Kofi, sometimes the cocaine mind sees more than the clear mind. Add up the salaries of all the 250 or so parliamentarians plus the salaries of all the civil servants, then the salaries of the Police, the army, ministers, etc., etc.
  
  This is the opportunity cost of the death of one man. This has the potential of affecting Ghana's GDP, not to mention government's deficit, because all these people who went to the funeral will still draw their salaries even though they did not work for it.
  
  Kofi use your head because it does not cost you anything to use your brains. This sordid culture of glorifying death is cost the nation our development and progress. I figure being a Ghanaian and bereft of all common sense, this will be too much for you to comprehend. But someone must say it.

Justice must prevail for dis gentle man, de rule of law must work in de entire nation fine every culprit involved in de mess. My deepest condolences goes to de bereaved family especially de wife n de two kids may de almighty god guide n protect dem. May de children live to become exactly as their father in de near future.
