  Thoughtful and timely piece..from the perspective of a rational expectations, agents need to be assured of sustained stability to accordingly adjust. It's in view of that I commend ur move but does the BoG(Political underplay in appointment of Governor subject to its position on recent and upcoming consent to issuing more bonds) raise questions about CREDIBILITY and STABILITY to convince agents to act. Of course, there are renewed confidence following the elections and Asempa budget..thanks to stability in the oil market and investor confidence were are on the path to stability..but we need to go beyond political expediency from the outlook of fiscal outlays. Well, we would soon have bonds to pay off energy sector loan..a relieve in the face of alarming Non Performing Loan but banks would have to Recapitalize..SMH. Government is going to get money back not private sector..probably, Industries hope to get it from government because there is a stimulus package..in any case from a non scientific point l, Gh banks like Consumer finance not investment..depolitisation of BoG is key to policy credibility and response, on government industralisation should be market driven..am sure in the near future we would be discussing who would bear risk,of financing these projects. There is the need to also harmonise the degree of openess in order not to jeopardise emerging domestic industries.(Gipc, port reforms, tax initiatives). I suggest the Ministry of trade and industry is tasked to oversee the impacts on local industries..we must complement that with strong local content policy promote consumption made in Ghana goods. For now, investors and players are watching. It's time that would tell. GOD BLESS MY HOMELAND GHANA

Average lending rates at Banks including Stanbic Bank are still northwards of 25%. The base rate quoted by Banks, including Stanbic, where you obviously work is a smoke screen at best.
