As Osagyefo always maintained, knowledge sought that does not benefit the mother and fatherland Africa is worthless. What we must know is that Osagyefo the Seer did not come back to Africa because of the quislings of Danquahs sort but because of his love for Africa and belief in the African personality. Only foolish and dumb fellows like Okoampa A. will sometimes dare question your integrity and analysis of what is going on in Ghana and Africa. Why do they seek African sportsmen in the diaspora to compete for the motherland and not the indispensable brains most of whom were initially sponsored by the resources of Africa? I moved to Ghana 7yrs ago but my over two decades work experience doesn't mean a thing.They think we are too much when we talk against their sense of entitlement syndrome. They surely don't want to see us going by the book. And, the funny thing is that they think most of us are stupid and don't even know the value of money.
We don't need a summit to lure the sons and daughters of Ghana home ?The Israeli govt is aggressively recruiting jews everywhere to Israel and it's doing everything to keep them there. That is not the case in Ghana. Our problems start from kotoka, right down to the harbor, where one is required to spend hours there just to frustrate you. Don't talk about land and business registration. The road network ?And dont even try to suggest anything to the so~called .natives. The bottom line is Ghana needs the Diasporans more than we think. So it needs to design better ways to attract them and retain them here because for Ghana to see the promised land it needs the support of every Ghanaian, after all the brain drain is a blessing in disguise .

Why else would Ghana's government, the political and educated class, believe that we cannot forge ahead on any front without the help from returning Ghanaians from the Diaspora? Perhaps the Akufo-Addo NPP government can explain the need for all the hoopla about this gathering of Diasporans in Ghana being touted as miracle on Earth when the record and footprints of Diasporans in past government administrations have not lived up to expectation and hype? I have not read or heard of industrialized, civilized nations at anytime pleading for the return of their citizens to help build their home countries; patriotism and love of or for country drive people back home. And no one has to ask returning Patriots to give up anything because most do not swear allegiance to another nation like we do as Africans who see no pride or value in our birth nations and only glad to rid ourselves of perceived shackles for being Africans.
To my way of thinking Ghanaians in the Diaspora have nothing to offer Ghana for one important reason. If foreign governments and nationals do see money to be made in Ghana on their skills and business ideas and they do come to make their money then what is preventing Ghanaians in the Diaspora with skills and ideas to do same? The only logical reason is that they do not have what Ghana need or what it takes to survive in this harsh realities in Ghana, are not adventurous or risk takers but comfortable working 9 to 5 for someone where their monthly earnings may be guaranteed. That is not what is needed in Ghana; we need those with entrepreneural spirit to grow and help reduce unemployment. Most of the returning Diasporans come to compete for government jobs that take precious resources away for development which our ignorant administrations misuse for perks. There is no difference between a white snake and a black snake; they both kill with a bite. The notion that being screwed by Diasporans may be better or should be preferable to being screwed by home grown idiotic politicians and their educated class cohorts is an ideal only citizens with slave era shackles on the brain can accept as norms.

Any Diasporan who decides to move back to Ghana is not looking for govt's handouts.Nine times out of ten come with money,skills and spirit to start on his own business to employ people.Who wants to move to Ghana and look for job?And anyone who has spent over 20 yrs in a developed country won't never move back to Ghana empty -handed.What we worry about is tons of frustrations that the system puts on us.You know we're not used to paying bribes to get things done and if we refuse to pay bribes then nothing gets done.We can't even go by the books in everything we do.Well, we can pretend that everything works here or face the facts and fix things.
Look,no one is asking for special treatment from anyone--talfiakwa!.We just want to contribute to the nation building without the headaches and heartaches.
We do know how long it takes to clear goods from New York or Newark harbor,but here it takes days if you're lucky.
We can argue back and forth all day long but, the fact of the matter is that Ghana is not ready to lure its citizens who wants to work,live and ultimately die in Ghana.
Do you know why tons of Ghanaian medical doctors are in the States? Is not all about money.

Take it from me, some of the best of entrepreneurs in Ghana had not lived for prolonged periods abroad or necessarily had higher education, for starters. Diasporians have varied skills---in some cases skills lacking in Ghana. The issue is a good number of domiciled Ghanaians frown on diasporians with skills, out of fear of "unwanted competition".
Domiciled Ghanaians are the ones who treasure government jobs "for life", and additionally enjoy 9-5 jobs!
Most Ghanaian diasporians l know enjoy challenge, competition and innovation--attributes foreign to a good number of domiciled Ghanaians.
My take is a good number of domiciled Ghanaians would rather prefer a foreigner coming to lord over them, than interacting at their workplace with a fellow skilled Ghanaian diasporian. It unfortunately is the proverbial black man syndrome.

He said, we Africans must unite or perish and we are not politically united and are perishing. He talked about the need for Africa to research and rely on solar energy. He said with science and technology even Sahara desert could be made verdant and Ghadafi has shown that in Libya. A lot can be said to answer your question but to hear it from the horses' mouth you need to get some of his books such as Africa Must Unite, Dark Days in Ghana etc. and read. Conakry Years is a book by Nkrumah's executrix that will help you appreciate him the more. You should be worried the more since Africa is not united. Nkrumah has predicted that with our artificial borders there is bound to be unnecessary wars between African States due to resources such as minerals like oil which will be found on colonial borders. A test case is the Ghana/Ivory Coast oil dispute. Nkrumah lived for others(Africa & Africans) and such a selfless person did not live in vain but live again!
