  Where there is sacrifice there is no happiness. You can only get happiness out of marriage when both of you understand each other,respect each other and be prepared to learn together.

In marriage your husband or your wife will not turn into a piece of gold or diamond after marriage. generally man deteriorate with age so when you get married, the number one aim is not to be come a burden on your spouse but rather to lighten your spouse's load. The number 1 principles of marriage is FAIRNESS. DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WANT OTHERS TO DO UNTO YOU! You must help your spouse in everything. When you and your wife are both working, you don't come back from work and sit in front of the tv and wait for your wife to cook dinner for you, you get into that kitchen and help out. You all did the same 12 hours in the office and and in traffic. SPLIT the work to make your load light. if you leave all the load on your spouse, she will get tired and begin to resent you. You can't become a vessel of sacrifice and always be looking up to some one to sacrifice all the time. Even Jesus did the sacrifice ones. Clean up after you eat, get your own food. Help with the washing, help with the cooking, lighten each other's load acne marriages quill work. Mothers are bringing up lazy men who think all they have to get is money and the wife well do everything else. So when he gets married, expects a cook, a cleaner, a washer, one who goes to the market and one who will have babies and raise them. All he had to do is go to work. He forgets that the wife too goes to work. PARENTS MUST TEACH THEIR SONS TO CATER FOR THEMSELVES. SO THAT WHEN THEY GET MARRIED THEY CAN HELP THEIR SPOUSES AND NOT SIT DOWN LIKE DISABLED PEOPLE TO BE WAITED UPON HAND AND FOOT. DON'T GIVE YOU SONS A SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT.... EXPECTING WOMEN TO DO EVENING FOR THEM. IT WON'T WORK.
  
  
  2. learn to be happy for each other's successes. Some husband, especially, resent it when their wives progress. They always try to our obstacles in their ways so they can't get that masters or PHD. they will create all sorts of "better" project and demand that the wife channels her money for school into that for the family.
  If she refuses, for the duration of the course, they won't talk to their wives. For some, as soon as you start, they also start something, they agree comparing with you, which is ok, provided you are not trying to stop me.
  
  
  
  3. don't progress alone. Encourage your spouse to improve themselves too. Some people get all the masters and PHDs while actively discouraging their spouses from getting same. Encourage them to improve on themselves with you.
  
  A sacrifice is when you develop a stroke and I have to take care of you. I can live with that. But when you actively seek to being me down so I will always be being for crumbs from you, you have become the demon oppressing my life, you will be out before jack!
  
  Everything is not about sacrifice. Sometimes marriages don't work because spouses are mean. Familiar breeds contempt and contempt increases and intensifies when familiarity comes with a sense of entitlement. Teach you children not to have any entitlement. Teach them that whatever they find themselves they must not be burdens on people.They must help those around them to rise. Then we well be doing unto other's add we want other's to do to us.   Intetestingly I do see the concept of sacrifice in all the diverging views. Different words and statements yet the logic behind them is sacrifice. Divorce is even a sacrifice.......lol
