Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah has confirmed that Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah was paid US$ 150,000 as part-payment of his signing-on fee.
Appiah is expected to use some of that amount to pay his former club Al Khartoum of Sudan as breach of contract.
The remainder of US$ 100,000 will be paid at a later date.
Meanwhile, Appiah and his backroom staff have not been paid salaries since taking charge three months ago.
Hon Asiamah expects the newly-constituted board of the team's sponsor Ghana National Petroleum Corporation to sort out the issue in the coming days.
''The board of GNPC is now in place and they will meet to discuss the Black Stars and advance some money to us. We are also looking at GNPC dealing with the ministry and the Black Stars and no longer the FA,'' he told the state-owned Graphic Sports.
