The dream of travelling to the USA to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup is slowly becoming a reality for Ghana’s football fans after the Black Stars' magnificent comeback win over the Central African Republic.
The Black Stars continued their unbeaten run at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium as they defeated C.A.R. by 4-3 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers to go top of the table in Group I.
Jordan Ayew was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick, with Fatawu Issahaku adding another goal.
The seven-goal thriller began with Jordan Ayew scoring from the penalty spot three minutes in, but Louis Mafouta equalized for the visitors in the 11th minute and later gave them the lead in the first half, much to the disappointment of Ghana’s team.
The Black Stars came back from recess more rejuvenated and, despite some missed opportunities, Jordan Ayew scored a double to complete his hat-trick, and Issahaku also scored.
Mafouta nearly tore the Ghana team apart with his late free-kick masterpiece to end the match 4-3 in favour of the Black Stars.
Reacting to the game, some fans expressed having suffered heartbreak with the Black Stars' sloppy performance in the first half.
However, a significant number of fans were super excited because their hope of travelling to either the USA, Mexico, or Canada to watch the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is becoming a reality.
