Juventus midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah, has assured Ghanaians that his return to the Black Stars will happen sooner than later.
The 28-year old midfielder has been out of the team for two years but believes that the end of his national team hiatus is near.
Speaking at the 2017 CTB Awards held at the residence of the Italian Ambassador to Ghana on Tuesday June 14, 2017, Kwadwo Asamoah averred that the decision to put his national team career on hold was due to recurrent injuries he has been suffering for the past two years but promised to be back very soon.
“Very soon I will join the team (Black Stars). I left the team due to some injuries and I needed more time to get better. I know Ghana has a lot of talents and even without me, they are doing well. I did not want to join the team half fit but now I’m glad that I’m fully fit and will soon join the team”, he said.
This news will come as a refreshing one to Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah, who has never hidden his admiration for the former Udinese player.
Kwadwo Asamoah was honored with the CTB Inspirational Player of the Year Award for being exemplary figure.
The CTB Award is an annual event organized to honor Ghanaian players who are based in Italy.
