Nii Awuley Ahaiku VI, Kwashieman Mantse, has called on Ghanaians to report to health centres immediately they fall sick to avoid complications and expensive treatment charges.
Nii Ahiaku made the call when the Ahiaku Family, under the Sempe Stool, registered 700 people free of charge under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The family also offered free medical screening for the people at Kwashieman, a suburb of Accra.
The exercise formed part of activities marking the celebration of this year’s Homowo Festival of the chiefs and people of Kwashieman.
Nii Ahaiku advised Ghanaians to seek quality medical care from the healthcare centres anytime they were sick and desist from self-medication which could bring about complications.
The Kwashieman Mantse also called for the active participation of the people in sporting activities to enable them to live healthy lives.
On the political scene, Nii Ahiaku urged politicians to demonstrate a high level of tolerance to ensure that there is always peace in the country.
He said Ghanaians acknowledged the desire of politicians to serve their country but they should not do anything that would hinder the peaceful coexistence of the people.
Nii Ahiaku commended the people in the community for embracing peace over the years and expressed the hope that this year’s Homowo would be celebrated peacefully.
Nii Kpakpo Saamuah I, Mankralo of Kwashieman , urged the youth to be law-abiding and desist from engaging in electoral malpractices.
