An NGO fetes HIV Victims and suspects on remand in cells

Koforidua, Dec. 27, GNA- Matthew 25, an HIV/AIDS Victim Support Centre based in Koforidua last Wednesday, feted about 1,000 People living With HIV/AIDS (PLWA), suspects on remand in police cells and patients on admission at various hospitals in the New Juaben Municipality.

Others who were feted included the needy in the society, HIV/AIDS orphans and members of the Security Services who were at post at the various police stations.

The beneficial centres included the Koforidua Regional hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, The Regional Police Command and Central Police station and the Zongo Maternity home that had a wheelchair in addition. The Director of the centre, Father Bobby Benson, who led a team of Catholic faithful to share foods, drinks and other Christmas gifts to the people, said the gesture was to show love to the beneficiaries. He said the centre realized the need to organize a "soup kitchen" every Christmas for such people so that they would feel loved and wanted in the society.
