Asamankese, Sept 20, GNA - A citizen of Asamankese based in Norway, Bafour Asirifi Kwatwerebo, has donated an ambulance to the Asamankese Government Hospital.

Bafour Katwerebo said when he was enstooled as a sub-chief a few years ago by the Asamankesehene, Osabarima Kwaku Amoah 111, he pledged to provide some of the town's needs and the donation was in keeping with that promise.

He said he and other Asamankese citizens resident in Norway were also working on a scheme to build decent and affordable housing units in the town.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye, received the keys of the ambulance and later handed them to the District Director of Health Service, Dr Ekow Kaitoo.

He expressed the hope that the donation would inspire other citizens of the area to assist the town.

Osabarima Kwaku Amoah urged Asamankese citizens, home and abroad, to emulate the example of Bafour Katwerebo.

The Member of Parliament for Lower West Akyem Constituency, Mr James Apietu-Ankrah, also thanked the donor and urged others to contribute to improve conditions at Asamankese.
