The Assembly member for Yachado electoral area, in the Tatale-Sanguli district of the Northern region of Ghana, Mr. Dachil Simon, has called on government and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to as a matter of urgency help provide hospital beds for the Tatale Polyclinic.
Mr Dachil, in an interaction with Savanna Diaries’ Nlaala Joseph, stated that the polyclinic lacks beds to accommodate patients on admission.
The Assembly member expressed his displeasure when Savanna Diaries news team visited the facility. He revealed that, most patients over the years get stranded at the clinic. Adding that, admitted patients together with their families are most times compelled to bring along mats or clothes to use as beds.
“All these people you see are receiving treatment on the floor. Sometimes, patients even share same beds” he lamented.
Mr. Dachil says he has called on the District Health Directorate to petition the government and the MOH to come to their aid.
“As a district, we are appealing to government and philanthropists or corporate bodies to join hands so that our lives are saved” he pleaded.
Meanwhile some patients who spoke to Savanna Diaries confirmed that, the situation is affecting health delivery in the district.
