Battor (V/R), Sept. 27, GNA - There was joy at the Battor Catholic Hospital on Tuesday when the Tongu Development Union of Toronto, Canada, presented new equipment worth 120 million cedis and a cheque for 60 million cedis to help to improve health delivery at the facility. Alhaji Ahmed Bandoh, Chief Executive Officer of Bahmed Travel and Tours, who presented the items on behalf of the Union at Battor, urged the Hospital staff not to neglect the sick for financial reasons. A statement from Mr Nicholas Adetie, Chairman of the Union, which accompanied the items, called on Battors to forge a united front to improve health care delivery in the area.

He said future contributions from the Union to promote the welfare of the people would depend on the judicious use of the equipment and the money donated.

Dr George Zakhia, an Assistant to the Medical Superintendent, who received the donation, said the money would be used to purchase a new photocopier machine to facilitate work at the Hospital. He urged future donors to consult the Hospital for its felt needs.
