The Christian Community Microfinance Company Limited (CCML) has presented sets of air-conditioners worth GHC 6000 to the Surgical and Medical Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

The gesture forms part of the financial institution’s corporate social responsibility act to give to society by extending a helping hand to the community in which it operates.

CCML’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Mary Armah, said: As a financial institution, we have a corporate social responsibility agenda to touch the lives of persons and institutions within the communities that we operate.

“This is our stronghold as a subsidiary of the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG); we heard of complaints from Korle-Bu that the Surgical and Medical Ward is very congested and hot and so we decided to offer a helping hand.”

She thanked the clients, customers and dedicated staff of the company for their relentless support that continues to grow the company and urged other corporate institutions to support needy institutions when they come calling for assistance.

Head of Department, Dr. Kakra Conduah, who received the items said: “We are grateful to CCML for this gesture; this unit is a busy place and mostly congested; as a result, the patients’ areas and staff rooms are mostly hot and so we thank CCML for listening to our needs.

“These air-conditions will bring the temperature down and make people in the unit feel more comfortable.

Dr. Conduah indicated that the unit looks forward to more of such gestures from the corporate world.

“We will be grateful for any donations that we can get as our financial situation is no different from any department or establishment in the country today. We all have financial constraints and we look forward to more of such donations either in cash or kind,” she said.
