Company donates to Good Shepherd Orphanage

Staffs of the Christian Community Microfinance Limited (CCML) has donated items worth GH¢3,000.00 to the Good Shepherd Orphanage in Ofankor in the Central Region.

The items included bottles of cooking oil, cartons of milk, bags of rice, bags of maize, tins of tomatoes paste and toiletries.

Mrs Mary Armah, the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, CCML told the GNA that the donation were contributions from members of staff to support the needy.

She said as part of the company's slogan of beyond finance, uncommon life, they organisation also ensured that beyond the provision of financial solutions and services, they also affected lives positively.

She said the donation was part of the CCML's social programming campaign initiated by staff to support the less privilege in society.

She said as part of the campaign, they had also paid the hospital bills of some patients.

Mrs Armah said the company in collaboration with the British Council had initiated a scholarship scheme for the inmates who complete the Junior High School and could not continue to the Senior High School.

She said the scholarship would also carter for the students to the tertiary level both in Ghana and outside if possible.

Mr Jacob Asiedu, the Awutu Senya Municipal Director, Department of Social Welfare expressed gratitude to members of staff of the company for their support in taking care of the inmates.

He said as part of the operations, the department monitored the activities of the Home to ensure effective care was taken of the children.

He said steps were being taken to re-unite the inmates with their extended families, calling on other corporate institutions to support the Home.
