The Freemasons of Ghana has donated three patient monitors valued at ¢18,000 to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western Region to help in the clinical care of critically ill patients.
Mr. George Mills, Deputy District Grand Master of Ghana, English Constitution, said charity and humanitarian services formed part of the core values of the society, therefore, from time to time the group supported communities, institutions and vulnerable groups towards alleviating the suffering in society.
He said the funds for monitors were realized from contributions of members, stressing:“Since the inception of the freemasons 100 years ago, it has not stopped doing good.”
Dr Michael Ntodi, Medical Director of the Hospital, recalled some kind gestures by the Freemasons to the health service in Ghana, and said the monitors would be placed in the intensive care unit to argument quality healthcare.
Patients monitors are usually used on the very ill, bed ridden, unconscious patients and at the special wards.
Dr. Ntodi while expressing gratitude to the Freemasons, also requested the group’s assistance in completing the care-givers’ hostel, renovating the hospital and providing oxygen generators.
