Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, Director General of the Ghana Health Service, has called on public-spirited individuals and organisations, to complement government’s efforts towards fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Kuma-Aboagye said this when he received 700 boxes of hand sanitizers from Mr Emanuel Asiedu Sekyere, Chief Executive Officer of Virtual Security Africa and Virtual Infotech Africa.

He said while the government was doing its best to curb the pandemic, the nature of the threat posed by COVID-19 was such that there could be no limitation to the extent of assistance and support needed, to stop the spread of the virus.

Dr. Kuma-Aboagye commended Mr. Sekyere for his noble initiative and said, the donation would contribute greatly towards the fight to end the spread of COVID-19.

He urged members of the public to adhere to the directives of the Government to stop the spread of the disease, such as social distancing, observing the partial lockdown in parts of the country, and generally being responsible as individuals towards the good of mankind.

The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service reiterated the fact that the fight against coronavirus required a multifaceted approach, and urged all and sundry to play their part in ensuring success in curbing the pandemic.

Madam Yvonne Nimoh, in charge of Sales and Marketing, Virtual Security Africa and Virtual Infotech Africa, presented the items on behalf of Mr. Emmanuel Asiedu Sekyere, the Group CEO and said, it was the intention of the group to extend the gesture towards other organisations, to help fight off the pandemic.
