As part of efforts to promote healthcare delivery in the country, Citibird Ghana Limited, an NGO has organized its maiden edition of Ghana Medical Fair aimed at connecting the medical and healthcare industry in Ghana with innovative equipment, products and services at a one-stop shop.
The fair which was opened in Accra to the general public at the National Theatre on Thursday, August 4, 2016 brought together the best medical institutions, organizations as well as health experts in the country at one convenient location to showcase a perfect platform, helping clients discover the latest industry innovations and offering network opportunities for business to thrive.
According to Chief Executive Officer of Citibird Ghana Limited, Victor Ekpo, the fair is a program uniquely designed to promote better healthcare delivery in Ghana with the aim of giving medical institutions in Ghana the opportunity to come under one roof and showcase best of their innovations, products and services to the general public.
“We have well positioned this fair to be Ghana’s No. 1 procurement stage for industry and professionals to experience new and innovative technologies, solution, products and services. Our focus this year is to exhibit various equipment and healthcare products for hospitals, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, medical institution, general public and many more”.
Expected to serve as a driving force of the next wave of healthcare modernization in Africa, the Ghana Medical Fair which is running from 4-6 August, 2016 has brought on board companies from China, Germany as well as the local companies in Ghana to showcase new disruptive digital healthcare solutions such as remote and wireless healthcare, IT platform, foot wear innovation, smarter medicine, institution and healthcare analytics.
Victor Ekpo in an interview said “We are looking at making this event a platform where it’ll stand out as the procurement market for the medical industry” “It will be a program which will be sustained as a yearly event henceforth.
He therefore called on the medical industry especially hospitals and diagnostic centres in the country to come out in numbers and see the various innovations and equipment being displayed by the participating exhibitors so they can purchase them in order to upgrade their facilities to a modern one.
The 3-the day event began with free medical screening which saw most participants screened on blood pressure (BP), Sugar level, body max index (BMI), HIV blood test, hepatitis B test among others.
