Alhaji Mohammed Agbeve, the Chief Executive Officer of the Agbeve Herbal Hospital, has urged Ghanaians to regularly go for medical checkups to know their health status.

He said health was paramount and that people should not wait till they fell sick before seeking medical attention.

Alhaji Agbeve gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Friday, when the hospital organised a free health screening exercise for the people at the facility at Sowutuom in Accra.

He said bad eating habits and lifestyles causes various sicknesses, and that, going for health screening twice in a year would allow for the early detection of any ailment.

He said herbal medicines can cure many illnesses such as malaria, typhoid, gonorrheal, ulcer, hepatitis ‘B’, and other communicable diseases, among others.

“The herbs are what God gave to our ancestors to cure themselves before the orthodox medicine came into being so there is no way we should allow the production of herbal medicine to perish,” he said.

Alhaji Agbeve said the free screening was part of the hospital’s social and corporate responsibility, adding that: “when God endows you with something you must also let others feel it.”

The Ridge Hospital also took part in the health screening by organising a blood donation exercise.
