Kumasi, Nov. 25, GNA- A GH=A250,000 cedis Herbal Treatment Centre, constructed by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission at Sepe Timpom in the Kumasi Metropolis was on Saturday inaugurated by the Ameer and Missionary in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Mission Maulvi Dr Wahab A. Adam. The project consists of a consulting room,Out-Patients-Department (OPD), Pharmacy, recovery rooms and a bungalow to accommodate the Medical Officer in-charge of the Centre.
Maulvi Adam said the government recognized herbal medicine for the treatment of ailments in the country to help improve health delivery. He noted that it was in the light of this that the Mission has established a number of hospitals in the country to complement the efforts of the government to improve the health status of the people. Maulvi Adam mentioned some of the hospitals as Asokore, Boadi near Kumasi and Kokofu in the Ashanti Region, Mim and Techiman in Brong Ahafo, Kaleo near Wa in the Upper West Region, Daboase in the Western Region as well as Agona Swedru and Mankessim in the Central Region.
The Missionary in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission said arrangements were far advanced for the establishment of herbal farms to feed the Centre.
He appealed to the people to patronize the Centre to help improve their health status.
Dr Asaduz Zaman, Medical Officer in-charge of the Centre said HIV/AIDS therapy would be provided at the Centre, adding that research was underway to affirm its potency.
He assured that the staff would render quality services to the people and urged them to visit the Centre for the treatment of their ailments.
The Medical Officer extended gratitude and appreciation to the Mission and others who contributed greatly towards the establishment of the Centre, the first of its kind built by the Mission in the country. 25 Nov. 07
