Two cases of cholera have been recorded in Ho Municipality, Dr Atsu Seake-Kwawu, Municipal Director of Health Services said on Monday.
He said the two persons are responding to treatment at the Volta Regional Hospital.
Dr Seake-Kwawu who was speaking to Ghana News Agency on the sideline of a reception by the Rotary Club of Ho in honour of Reverend Dr Seth Senyo Agidi, Moderator elect of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, said a nurse also contracted the disease while treating a patient.
He said the patient travelled from Accra and was rushed to the Regional Hospital upon arrival in Ho vomiting.
Dr Seake-Kwawu said his outfit is in control of the situation but cautioned the public against unhygienic practices.
Last week, there were concerns in town about the inability of Zoomlion, a waste management company to collect refuse at designated points due to shortage of diesel, resulting in refuse spilling over and littering the central business district and some streets.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Environmental Office has begun house-to-house campaign against cholera.
