Adamsu (B/A), March 29, GNA - The European Union (EU), in conjunction with Community Water and Sanitation Agency, has built an ultra-modern water pumping station valued at 2.3 billion cedis at Adamsu in Jaman South District.

The District Assembly paid 40 million cedis, being the community's five percent share of the cost of 83 million cedis, whilst the EU bore the remaining 95 percent cost.

Mr. Atsu Televia, an Engineer of Colan Consult, the contractors, handed over the project to the Adamsu Water Board and asked the District Assembly to help monitor the efficient use of the system. Mr. Mohammed M. Saani, District Coordinating Director, called for impeccable reports covering financial, management and technical aspects of the Board.

Mr. Apraku Tanor, District Chief Executive, called for consensus building to ensure that the purpose for the system was attained. He appealed to the board not to increase water tariffs when prices of petroleum products are increased.
