President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo
President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked Ghanaians for their support as he take over the reins of government on January, 7 2017.
He’s upbeat about the success of his government, if he gets the support and prayers of the Ghanaian populace.
Nana Addo was speaking at a meeting with some religious leaders at his Nima residence, in the capital, Accra.
“I have a big responsibility now,..I will not be able to discharge those responsibilities without your active support and intervention with the almighty. I need your prayers now even more than before. I need the prayers of all Ghanaians and your guidance.
The new Ghanaian leader has indicated that, his main priority will be fixing the economy and addressing the youth unemployment rate in the country.
“Unemployment amongst the youth has reached alarming proportions, and if we don’t find a method of dealing with it, our country and society are going to run into all kinds of problems down the line. So my major priority is what we need to do to get our economy working again, expanding and growing rapidly,” Nana Akufo-Addo said.
The world bank has pegged the youth unemployment rate at 48 percent for persons between ages 15 and 24.
