MDS-Lancet laboratories donates to Komfo Anokye

MDS-Lancet Laboratory Ghana Limited has presented a cardiac monitor worth GHC40, 000.00 to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

Speaking at a short ceremony to present the equipment to the hospital, the Chief Executive of the Company, Dr Paul S-Nyantakyi said the donation was part of the company’s effort to promote prompt patient care in the country and was in line with MDS-Lancet Gh Ltd’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

He also mentioned that the company had earlier in the year, renovated the Surgical ward G of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, at a cost of approximately GHC100,000 also as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

Dr Kwaku Nyame, Head of Department for the Accident and Emergency Department, KATH was full of praise for the company for coming to the aid of the Department.

He said the equipment will help to monitor patient’s vital signs and SPo2 (amount of oxygen in the blood also known as peripheral capillary oxygen saturation) and is able to measure other important patient characteristics like carbon dioxide concentration.

“It is a useful tool that used in monitoring the very sick patients who report to the department” and was hopeful that the equipment would help the department to improve on its service delivery."

The CEO of the hospital, Dr Oheneba Danso was also grateful to the company for the donation which he said would help the department to provide better care for the patients.
