The Concerned Association of Ghana has presented sanitary tools worth ?1,38 million to the Assin Fosu District Assembly to help it to promote its sanitary programmes. The tools include wheel barrows, dustbins, shovels and Wellington boots. The National Chairman of the Association, Mr.. J.Y. Aidoo, made the presentation after a four-hour clean up exercise organised by the Association at Fosu. He said the tools were purchased from donations by some companies and organisations to the Association. Mr.. Aidoo expressed concern about the indiscriminate way people throw rubbish about and called for a stop to the practice as it can cause an epidemic. He called on the communities to assist the District to enforce its environmental and sanitary bye-laws to rid the area of diseases. The District Chief Executive, Mr.. Abraham Fukuo, who received the items, thanked the Concerned Citizens Association of Ghana for its gesture. He said the donation has come at a time the Assembly has launched a programme to promote environmental sanitation. The MP for Assin North, Madam Florence Kumi and the MP for Assin South, Mr.. K.A. Dadzie, commended the Association for the good work it is doing.
